Ellis’ Settlers: Play the Past

Join HPL for a week-long, half day camp where local history meets role-play tabletop games!  Heavily based around the Dungeons and Dragon and Oregon Trail games, participants will take on a character from two Volga-German families immigrating from Russia to try and survive in Ellis County.  Through rolls of the dice and their own skills, they will work together to gather resources to build their community.  They will also get the opportunity to read newspapers and talk to neighbors about historical information from the time, and see educational artifacts from the Ellis County Historical Society. Registration is limited to 10 participants and daily attendance is required.
